On October 26, 2024, Prime Biodiversity Conservation organized a remarkable tree planting event in Kacyiru as part of Umuganda Day, which occurs on the last Saturday of every month. We successfully planted 1,500 trees during this initiative, which took place from 7 AM to 11 AM, underscoring our commitment to enhancing biodiversity and creating a healthier environment for Rwanda.
The goal of this tree planting project is to directly benefit the local community by improving air quality, increasing greenery, and fostering biodiversity through the creation of vibrant ecosystems. Trees play a vital role in combating climate change, enhancing soil health, and promoting the overall well-being of our environment, ensuring a greener Rwanda for future generations.
We were honored to welcome several esteemed guests who lent their support to this initiative, including the District Executive Administrator of Gasabo, the CEO of Green Future Initiative, the Project Manager of One Tree Planted, the CEO of Eden Care Medical, the MD of Rwanda Trading Co., the deputy ambassador of the State of Israel and the APR FC players and fans. Their participation underscores the importance of collaboration across various sectors to effectively address environmental challenges and highlights our collective responsibility to restore our planet.
The day was a wonderful experience, filled with enthusiasm and teamwork. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds came together to dig holes, plant saplings, and share their stories and commitments to a greener environment. It was inspiring to see everyone’s dedication, and the event had a significant impact on our community, reinforcing the notion that collective action can lead to meaningful change.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who participated and supported this important effort. Together, we are making a substantial difference in our community and the environment. As we move forward, let’s continue to work towards a greener future for Rwanda.
Stay tuned for updates on the progress of this initiative and other exciting new projects!
